Infant through Preschool Services

Did your child just receive an ASD diagnosis? Does your child have difficulties expressing their wants and needs? Do they exhibit challenges related to eating, sleeping, non-compliance, or meltdowns? Do you wish your child was able to interact with their peers or siblings better? Or engage in more independent play and leisure activities? Are you worried about whether they will be prepared to transition into their district kindergarten?

KGH’s Early Childhood Program can provide help and support with all of these challenges and worries that may come with receiving a diagnosis.

Our Early Childhood Program

KGH’s Early Childhood (EC) Program is comprehensive, evidence-based, individualized, and grounded in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and the verbal behavior approach. We serve children birth through 5 years with ASD and related special needs. Our program provides a nurturing learning environment in which children are motivated to learn and grow.

The goal of the program is for children to acquire the skills necessary for inclusion in their district school, independent living, and the development of meaningful social relationships. Family is an important part of the EC Program and the KGH team will provide education and encouragement to improve the quality of life for the entire family system.

How We Can Help

We are here every step of the way.  From beginning services after the initial diagnosis to supporting social challenges in kindergarten, our EC Program has it all covered! We will guide and support you through each phase of our program. Through the entire process, your child, and family, has access to speech therapists, occupational therapists, mental health support, board certified behavior analysts, and registered behavior technicians. They are here to help guide your child through the program as well as support, educate, and empower you to be the best parent you can be for your child and family!

Because research has shown that ABA can be a highly effective treatment for ASD (Hagopian & Boelter, 2012), our ABA program is offered as either comprehensive or focused.  Both programs use the science of behavior analysis to address and remediate the core deficits or issues associated with the ASD diagnosis your child received; for example, communication, play, safety skills, and more. Our goal is to teach your child the necessary skills to become an active, natural learner who benefits from a classroom environment. Research has shown that children with ASD and related disorders who receive early, individualized ABA intervention have a greater chance of future success.
